If you are looking for a centrally located, self catering cozy apartment, cottage, holiday home or bungalow in the royal area of the Netherlands you are most welcome in our family owned bungalow park. It is situated close to the cities Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort and only 55 km's away from the airport Schiphol (see route). You may also want to take the train from Schiphol airport to Amersfoort and we will pick you up from the trainstation (on weekdays only) .You can reach almost all major tourist attractions in Holland within one hour drive from our holiday park. Over 50 restaurants in the close surroundings. Shops within 1500 metres, City Centre within 3500 metres. Description of the location of the holiday park and it's surroundings.The Eekhoornnest (Squirrel park) is situated in a beautiful area right in the center of the Netherlands called the Utrecht Hill Ridge. It is situated 400 meters south off the main road (N221) and is a guarantee for a quiet, child friendly environment. To ensure safety for the children in the park all cars are parked on reserved parking spaces close to each house along the road which is situated in the center of the holiday park. You may also make free use of the underground parking garage. Just behind the park you walk into a beautiful wooded nature area with miles of sanddunes. A 15 minute walk will take you to a small lake in the forest. Just 450 meters from the park you will find a traditional cheese farm. You can see how cheese is made and also buy many different milk products. At 650 meters the first of many restaurants "de Korte Duinen" will be found and at 750 meters a prize winning bakery. The first shopping center is another 300 meters away. Within 800 meters distance is one of the largest outdoor swimmingpools with canopy trail and open air theaters and 300 meters further one of the best zoos in Holland "the Amersfoort Zoo". In Soest (2 km) the windmill and the palace of our former queen is worth your visit. The medieval city center of Amersfoort founded in 1050 is a must to see and only 2,5 kilometers away. About 4 kms south is Soesterberg where children can climb into real helicopters and airplanes. This is the militairy airforce museum with free admittance. Villages you must not miss are the small village of Lage Vuursche (route) with castle Drakenstein and a nice minigolf course, Spakenburg (route) which is an old fishermans village and is known for it's tradional clothing and unique harbour (a replica is built in Japan) visit the museum and Laren (10km north) which is known for it's Dutch celebrities. You must vist the ancient (over one hundred years old) Poffertjes kraam and taste some of the poffertjes. All above mentioned places can be visited by bicycle along beautifully made bicycle paths. Bicycles can be rented at the holiday park.You may not be searching for a self catering accomodation to just visit this area, but to visit all of Holland. If you want to be closest to Amsterdam (route), Keukenhof (route), Alkmaar (route), Volendam (route), Dolfinarium (route), Efteling (route), Walibi (route),Madurodam (route), Apenheul and Palace het Loo (route), Giethoorn (route), Brugge (route), or even Paris (route) our park is the most central place to be.
